PEI Certified Organic Producers Cooperative

The PEI COPC and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada will host an organic hemp field day on August 17 (9 am, AAFC Harrinton research farm), with representatives from Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and PEI presenting on various aspects of producing, breeding varieties suitable for our Island conditions and purchasing requirements. Cost is free and all are very welcome to attend. You are asked to please confirm your attendance with Stephanie as soon as possible to facilitate planning. Planning has begun for our annual Organic Harvest Meal, which will take place the evening of Sunday, October 4^th at the PEI Brewing Company with Adam Loo again heading up an excellent team of local chefs. Further details will come soon, but for now we encourage you to mark your calendars. This will be a great celebration of local organic food produced on PEI, and of those who produce it, and we hope that you will all be there.
 
We are also getting organized to buy food/ingredients for this event. If you are interested in sourcing any food, in quantities sufficient for (part of) a meal for 250 people, please contact Stephanie (research@organicpei.com / (902) 894-9999) by July 31 with what you expect to have available at the time of the meal and at what price.

This will be the last in our series of kitchen meeting/ farm tours for the season.

 Crystal Green Farms is a PEI farm fresh produce certified organic farm located in beautiful Bedeque, PEI.

Operated by Brian Mackay and Kathy Ware, Crystal Green Farms grows PEI organic vegetables as well as oilseed crops and grains. We also naturally raise calves, a flock of sheep, pigs, and chickens for both meat and eggs.

Our core business is our Veggie Box & Meat Box program, where we provide fresh organic veggies to customers in Summerside and Kensington and a recent new delivery area in Winsloe.
